Episode #8 – Love is Not Angry

About

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 tells us that Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly… Being angry, physical hurting someone or being verbally abusive are actions of acting unbecomingly. This program will discuss Domestic Violence, a subject rarely talked about in the church, but is a reality.

Hope Benn, Founder of HopeSpeaks speaks from her heart and offers encouraging words to any person that is in a relationship where verbal, physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual abuse exists. Ms. Benn, and her then husband met and married in a Spirit-filled church. They served in pastoral positions in the church they attended, but no one knew she was experiencing verbal and physical abuse from her husband that started on her wedding night. Hope shares candidly how the Church is not addressing this critical issue and how she is becoming a mouthpiece for God to bring this hidden topic to light.

Rodney Pearson, Founder of Brothers United Against Domestic Violence joins the conversation to address domestic violence from a man’s perspective. He shares how he and a network of people are working in the community to help men with unbecoming behaviors overcome them by getting to the root of the problem through counseling and the Word of God.
